What is DUPR? DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a free rating system used across the world, and by most Pune tournaments and DUPR nights, to put players in the right category.
The scale. Ratings run from 2.000 to 8.000. You have separate singles and doubles ratings.
| Rating | Roughly means |
|---|---|
| 2.0–2.9 | Beginner: learning to keep rallies going |
| 3.0–3.4 | Improving beginner: rallies, basic dinks |
| 3.5–3.9 | Intermediate: drops, dinks and moving as a team |
| 4.0–4.4 | Advanced club player: consistent, tactical |
| 4.5–4.9 | Strong tournament player |
| 5.0+ | Elite and professional |
This table is our guide, not an official DUPR chart.
How it moves. DUPR looks at your match results and the score, compared with your opponents' ratings. Beating stronger players, or losing narrowly to them, helps more. Tournament and DUPR-night matches count. The more matches you play, the more reliable your rating becomes.
How to get your rating:
- Create a free account at dupr.com or in the DUPR app.
- Play DUPR-rated matches: DUPR nights and DUPR tournaments in Pune upload results for you.
- Your rating appears after your first rated matches and settles as you play more.
DUPR caps at Pune events:
- Per player: each player must be at or under the cap (e.g. 3.9).
- Team combined: both partners' ratings added together must be at or under the cap (e.g. 7.5).
- Organisers usually cut off extra decimals rather than round: 3.97 counts as 3.9.
- Organisers check ratings on a cut-off date, shown on each event page.
