Start playing pickleball in Pune

New to pickleball? Here's how to get going.

1. Try an open play session. Open play is a casual session where you turn up, get grouped with players at your level and rotate through games. No partner needed. See this week's sessions on the home page (filter: Open play).

2. Find a court near you. Our venues page lists courts by area, with how to book each one. See venues

3. Get a DUPR rating. DUPR is the rating most Pune events use to put players in the right category. Create a free account at dupr.com, then play DUPR-rated games (many clubs run "DUPR nights") and your rating builds from there.

4. Join a club. Clubs run regular nights at the same venue, which is the easiest way to find people to play with.

5. Enter your first tournament. Use the DUPR checker on any event page to see which categories you can enter.
